Description:  In January 2008, Pennecon Heavy Civil Ltd. was awarded the $5.9 million contract for the construction of the four lane Hixon Creek Bridge and 700 meters of associated approaches, located approximately 35 minutes south of Prince George, B.C.

The project was completed in two phases; the first to construct access roads to the bridge site for pile driving equipment and to commence with the construction of the new bridge and associated road works.

The second phase of the project saw the demolition of the existing bridge, foundation works, abutment construction, girder erection and bridge deck.

The project was successfully completed in November 2009, despite severely cold weather conditions during access road construction.
