Description:  In March 2008, Pennecon Heavy Civil Ltd. was awarded the $8.1 million contract for the construction of the Chinchaga River Bridge located 74km west of the town of High Level, Alberta.

The bridge construction consisted of a new three span 140m Steel Girder Bridge on a concrete substructure and a high performance concrete deck with asphalt concrete overlay. A two year construction period was required due to fishery window(s) and the climate in Northern Alberta.

Year one construction included the installation of the concrete substructure and steel girders, with year two construction consisting of the placing of the high performance concrete deck, parapet and asphalt concrete overlay. Construction commenced in July 2008 and was completed in October 2009.
